Perliminaries at Simon & Jude

Simon & Jude Parish Concert
June 13, 2008

After the customary practice schedule from January to June, our departure concert was held in the church of Saints Simon and Jude Parish in West Chester, PA. It's a great venue for a concert, and the parish always comes out to support us. We even have CCVA groupies. A big shout out to Sister Francina, who always attends concert night, comes to see us off, and even to welcome us home when we return at a reasonable hour.

Preparation seemed a little more pressured than in year's past - a lot of new faces, challenging music and sometimes a few too many competing commitments. But as usual, we rose to the occasion for our recording session, and the concert came off very well.

The house was packed. Our fearless leader, Mrs. C, supported by an accomplished accompanist and with trusty assistant Ms. Flo, put us through our paces, and everyone seemed pleased. Thanks for eveyone's support - especially CCVA Alumni and parents.

Jackie's return from college to be with us on the tour has been a great help and her debut as assistant choir director was both well deserved and fun to watch. Congratulations, Jackie.

The Friday night concert was followed by providing service music for the 10:30 AM Sunday Mass at Simon and Jude. On Monday the 16th, we were on our way.
